Active Company is an Antwerp based GLBT organisation, that focusses on sports. We offer a broad range of social and sports activities in an openminded and GLBT-based context. Being a part of EGLSF, Active Company also has experience of more than 20 years in organising international GLBT-tournaments such as our Halloween tournaments, the 2009 Antwerp Games, the 2007 Eurogames and the 2013 World Outgames.
In 2015 the first BrilliANT Games for tennis were held. This became an award-winning tennis tournament and was the bases a renewed ambition. The successful experience lead to a new energy and resulted in a new multi-sports event in 2017: the Antwerp Brilliant Games 2017, the start of a biannual tradition. The thrive for quality has resulted in a masters status granted by the GLTA (tennis) and a masters status granted by the Belgian swimming federation, for the 2019 edition. Another novelty for this edition is the addition of a number of recreational activities: running, an art and nature walk and a bicycle tour, opening up the tournament to an ever larger public than before.
Besides our sportive goals we have set a number of social goals. Our motto “Experience sports without boundaries” is an invitation to all, to join us for a weekend of sports and social events. With the support of the city of Antwerp and the help of a big number of volunteers, we are proud to present to you a new edition of the Antwerp Brilliant Games in 2019. This edition aims to be even bigger, better, more inclusive and more brilliant than the first edition.
For the 2019 edition, Antwerp Brilliant Games has teamed up with Out for the Win. This Belgian organisation aims to normalise LGBTQI people in sports and empower youth to feel comfortable in their own skin, by increasing visibility of the LGBTQI community in all sports and sport clubs through storytelling.
We hope to welcome you at one of our events and are looking forward to a weekend of sportive achievements, new (international) friendships as well as friendships rekindled
